Luke Reece is a graduate of York University, receiving his Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree with a Major in Theatre and Minor in Creative Writing. He is a biracial storyteller and community builder from Mississauga, engaging with young-in-craft artists that are as diverse as the community he lives in. Luke is the Artistic Director of Little Black Afro Theatre, Apprentice Resident Artist-Educator at Young People’s Theatre and co-creator of Dark Nights.
Luke has been a part of the SummerWorks Leadership Intensive Program, Theatre Gargantua’s Emerging Artist Round Table, Theatre Ontario’s Youth Advisory Committee, and Watah Theatre’s Professional Arts Training Initiative (formerly the Performing Arts Training Intensive). He is the recipient of the York University Imasco Performing Arts Award, York University Faculty of Fine Arts Opportunity Award, York University President’s Creative Writing Award for his play Definition, and Robert Beardsley Award For Young Playwrights.
